Description:

psDoom lets you literally kill most any running process on your system by shooting or punching it's representation in the Doom world to death. If you just wound the monster/process/application, its processing priority will be decreased. If you kill it, the process is in-turn, killed as well. It's surprisingly FUN! psDoom is also pre-compiled!

A Word of CAUTION:

Please note that by killing a monster with a name above its head WILL kill the process. It will not ask you to sake your work, so if you lose something you worked very hard on, don't blame me. I didn't shoot your program with the BFG, you did.

System Requirements:

• Either an Ultimate Doom or Doom II WAD file. (download a shareware one for free)
• Any Mac running Mac OS X and X11

(as far as I know this is true. Contact me if you have troubles)

Running psDoom:

1. drop one of the following files into your psDoom directory
   DOOM.WAD
DOOM2.WAD
It does not matter if these files are from the PC or Macintosh versions of Doom, as they are both the same. If they are the free shareware editions that can be downloaded from the internet, then they are also acceptable.
2. Run X11, "cd" to the psDoom folder and execute psdoom (Use: "./psdoom" if you are already in the doom folder)
   

   If you don't want to type all that every time you can type it once in the "Applications"->"Customize..." menu. simply format the "Command" line to: cd /path/to/your/psdoom/; ./psdoom Now you can run psDoom with 2 mouse clicks.

For those new to Terminal/X11/UNIX:

Command:	Function:
ls -l	full file list of wherever you are.
cd psdoom	change directories to the "psdoom" directory.
./something	execute the file called "something"

With this you now have enough basic knowledge to at least navigate to the doom folder and run this binary.

Playing External WAD Files

You can try loading up additional WAD file., I have not tested them all, but they could work.

What you should note is that the .WAD files are not freely distributable. This means that if you want to play the full version of Doom/Doom2/Final Doom/Ultimate Doom then you need to buy the game and use the WAD files included with it or you may use Doom/Doom2 shareware WAD files, which are freely available at idsoftware.com
