Cool Stuff That Actually Hapened
Bobs can't fly... BOBS CAN'T FLY!!! - (Screenshot#1, Screenshot#2)
I had a strange experience lately... By following the entire development of Halo from nearly the first day, I picked up a few interesting facts. One of the things I became aware of was that Bobs (Human AI Teammates) were not allowed to pilot vehicles/crafts... This made sense to me, but the reason for it was that Bobs are idiots when it comes to maneuvering vehicles, which also makes sense to me. The odd thing that happened to me was when I was playing Halo through again for the n^3 time (This time on normal with pistols only). While on the level "Assault on the Control Room" I was in a small battle in the first snow area, after the first bridge. I was fighting some covenant bitches when an 31337 (an elite for the non h4x0rz) came up to me on a ghost, I began firing at him with the zeal of a cult member with my pistol, being careful to only hit him and not the ghost in which he was riding. After approximately 5 shots and 7 seconds he had bitten the dust; crashing over behind the trees opposite the entry door. I hopped on the ghost and hot tailed it over to the other corner of the clearing where I engaged the last remaining enemies. I swooped down to the right of the snow covered ramp and began firing. My ghost was taking some heavy fire, so I bailed and went after one of the 31337s that was standing there, Ignoring the second one. While my back was turned, killing 31337 #1, the second hopped on the ghost and started to engage the Bobs who had by this time, began showing up at the ensuing mini-battle. I meanwhile was taking out all the little one-shot-wonders (grunts), and having a pretty good time. Once cleared, I ran back and stood on the ramp to gloat over my victory. While I was taunting the dead bodies with my 1337 0wnage skillz0rz I kept hearing a whizzing sorta sound... whizzz, whoooom, whirrrr. and it sounded like a ghost; but I swore I killed every enemy. I checked my radar and no red blips, only an occasional yellow one which was a bob. After some confused field traversals, I noted an active ghost hovering over by the rock formation where the alien gun turret resides. I went to check it out and discovered that A BOB WAS FLYING THE GHOST!!! HOW COULD THIS BE!??!?!! My only explanation for it was that after the Bobs collectively killed the elite, the ghost was still alive, and to ensure that it was not taken again by another elite, the bob hopped in. I have to say, I was impressed by the bob's flying / following skillz, he accompanied my warthog and subsequent tank all the way to the next indoor area (the place that looks like a gas station).
Tips (Not Halo Tits, thats elsewhere)
Get a Bob to fly a ghost:
First find a ghost that is being piloted by a covinant eliete, enguage the enemy, and be sure to only shoot the pilot, not the ghost (I prefer a pistol for this). Once the pilot is dead, approach the ghost, If done properly, a nearby bob will run for the vehicle and get in it.
