Descent 3 Cheat Codes

Legal Codes
The following codes are not considered cheating, and may even be used during multiplayer play. Just type the code during a game, but be warned: some of the keys you type may be assigned to perform other functions also. You can turn off a code by typing it again.
| frametime or framelength: displays a frames-per-second performance counter in the upper right corner. | |
| byebyemonkey: "chase view" from behind your ship; this is fun but makes aiming more difficult. | |
| shananigans: wildly colored walls. | |
| teletubbies: changes the sun into a Teletubby. Unfortunately, it is impervious to damage. |
Cheats
These codes are actual cheats and are not useable in multiplayer play, but they can make the single-player game easier. You will forfeit your score if you cheat, however. Turn these on and off by typing them during a game:
treesquid: fill in entire map. |
moreclang: skip ahead to any level of your choice (except for the secret levels). See the Levels page for a list of levels in the single-player mission (Retribution). |
burgergod: invulnerability power-up; makes you impervious to damage. |
testicus: cloak power-up; makes you invisible to robots until you give your position away. |
deadofnight: clears all robots from the level. |
ivegotit: gives you a full load of all 25 weapons/countermeasures (in the retail version), full shields and full energy. |
The tuberacer code damages your ship, not very useful, as do codes (even legal ones) from the PC D3 demo and from Descent 1 and 2.
